I wasn’t born with nutritional insight.  Frankly, I had to learn the hard way, often confused as to what I should eat for optimum health or where to go for sound nutritional advice. 

 

I’ve spent years negotiating the maze of misinformation out there – and there’s a ton of it.  Magazines and newspapers tell us one thing – TV tells us something else.  Dr. So-And-So promises that you’ll lose weight if you follow her plan; and then “The World’s Leading Nutritionist” challenges that approach and suggests something completely different.  Who should we listen to?

It’s easier said than done…unless we have the proper guidance.  That’s were I can help.  After several years of ignoring what my body was telling me (and listening instead to what the latest “Diet Guru” was shouting), I learned how to nourish my body – optimally.  I know how to recognize the signals my body sends and how to adjust my nutrition based on those signals.    And that’s just what I teach my clients.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate.  I had a drive to discover my own nutrition plan that kept me going, even when the going got tough.  What I share with my clients is that same passion and dedication, along with the support to reach their weight loss, health, and fitness goals.  And I promise to extend that same passion, dedication and support to your customized nutrition plan

As a registered holistic nutritionist I’ve empowered hundreds of people, men and women just like you, to translate science-based nutrition information into a realistic and manageable eating plan and to reach their health and weight loss goals.  By utilizing the incredible tool of Metabolic Typing (customized nutrition), I can help you to shed excess weight, lower cholesterol or blood pressure, boost energy or simply stay healthy as you age. Working one-on-one with me will give you the tools, confidence, and support you need to eat healthfully today - and for the long term.

What’s Metabolic Typing? And why is it so effective?

Metabolic Typing, simply put, is a customized nutrition appropriate for you!  I recognize that nutrients behave differently in different people’s bodies and through a series of tests I can determine your Metabolic Type, in other words, what’s right for you, which foods to eat or avoid, how much to eat, and which supplements to take in order to:

·         maintain your ideal weight

·         decrease cravings

·         improve energy

·         free yourself from hunger pains between meals

·         increase concentration

·         improve overall wellbeing
 

Metabolic Typing matches your nutrition with your metabolism.  As far as I know, when you go on the Atkins or South Beach diet you don’t get advice from Dr.Atkins, or get flown down to South Beach for one-on-one coaching or Q and A with a qualified nutritionist.

Here's how Andrew's nutritional program will work for you:

Once you've decided the time is right to make permanent changes to your nutrition, I’ll schedule a one-on-one appointment for you and then send you my Nutrition Consulting Form (via email, or regular mail). This questionnaire asks you about your nutrition and health goals, your medical history, and you’re eating and exercise habits. Once you've completed the form, you can either submit it online or mail it back (if you don’t have access to email). This will allow me to get a head start on your nutrition assessment before I meet/speak with you.

Your first consultation with Andrew: During our initial 45-minute meeting, we’ll talk about your goals, lifestyle, habits, medications, and nutrition supplement use. I'll also walk you through a detailed diet history to learn your eating/meal schedule, your portion sizes and, of course, your food preferences.

Then I will help you choose which program is best for you, Advanced or Comprehensive (see below for details).  

Based on your Metabolic Typing test results, health history, and overall goals, I will then prepare the following for you:

·         A Customized Nutrition Plan that outlines meal times, portion sizes, appropriate food combinations and actual meal suggestions for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Your meal plan will be based on where you actually eat - restaurants, take-out and at home.

·         A Nutrition Action Plan that outlines the dietary changes necessary to help you achieve your goals. In essence, this is a list of specific strategies and recommendations that will help you improve your nutrition, your nutritional intake and your activity level.

·         A Specific Supplementation Plan that will further optimize your energy, immune and digestive systems, and overall metabolism.  You will also get direct access to Ultra Life – the leader in customized supplements (the same company I use).    

·         A Customized Lifestyle Recommendation Plan that will address any specific concerns not addressed by nutrition and exercise alone.  These powerful tools can help combat adverse lifestyle habits, excess travel, and stress – just to name a few. 

·         A Goal setting Workshop which will enable us to chart our progress and build a foundation for both short and long-term success.  As you start to reach your nutritional goals it’s not uncommon to set and achieve new goals you never though possible.

Your second 45-minute consultation – “Your results session!” This visit is usually scheduled one week after our first appointment. During this meeting I will review your nutrition and meal plan with you so that you are ready to get started! You will then follow-up with me on a regular basis.

Four 15-minute follow up visits/phone sessions – “Success Steps” These visits are critical to your short and long term success - follow-up visits provide support, accountability and allow for ongoing nutrition education. Follow-up visits can be combined to allow for 30 minutes sessions - this will be determined based on your goals and objectives.  Depending on your goals, follow-up visits may be scheduled weekly, bi weekly or even monthly.

Working with Andrew means you'll continue to get support and education outside of your office visits. Here's a list of other services available to Andrew's clients:

·         Personal access to me, Monday through Saturday. If you have a question about your meal plan, a food product or even a restaurant menu, you don't have to wait until your next appointment. I can be available to answer your questions by phone or email.

·         andrewfit.com online tracking tools. If you prefer to keep track of your progress online rather than on paper, you'll receive special access to my online food diary and body measurement tracker plus much more.

·         Andrew's Monthly Nutrition/Wellness eNewsletter.  Each month you'll receive plenty of nutrition and wellness information - food product ratings, nutrition and health advice, exercise and fitness insight, recipes and more.

·         Additional testing to monitor your progress. If you need additional testing such as: pH balance, blood pressure, respiration rate or blood sugar measurements, testing will be overseen by me in Morris County, NJ, where my private practice is located.

·         Referrals to top health professionals (Advisory Board) working in the fields of medicine, psychology, physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, and fitness. If you're interested in a healthy meal delivery program, or attending my Quick N’ Healthy Cooking Classes, I'll give you a referral in order to ensure your complete success.

Comprised of an extensive computer-based questionnaire analysis that reveals your Autonomic, Oxidative, Endocrine and Blood Type as well as your Dominant System.

 

 
Designed to be a "complete metabolic lifestyle and maximum health-building program." Whereas the Advanced Program for metabolic typing can be thought of as a "metabolic balancing program," the Comprehensive Program is intended as an "optimum health-building program" to help your body rebuild and regain its health if you've lost it, or maximize your potential and keep your good health if you already have it.

This is the best way to achieve your ultimate goal.  Even if you have achieved your goals, you may decide to continue seeing me periodically to help keep you on track and prevent slipping back into old habits. If you have the desire to change I will provide the support, motivation, and education so you can succeed. Additional follow-up visits or phone sessions are sold in packages of four for  $225.00
